After weeks of testing my own variation on this recipe, I think I’ve made the most realistic vegan chicken recipe ever.

  1. If I were to make these, I probably wouldn't do any "bones." I mean, who the heck ever needed the bones?! We pay more for boneless real chicken, right? Thank you for sharing this recipe.

  2. YESSS!! I just discovered "tofu skins" and "soy chops", which are texturally similar, but the chops look like a small patty. I cannot believe the texture from these!! And it's only like two ingredients, and ridiculously perfect texture. Same w the rice paper. I never need to over-pay for Impossible/Beyond meat substitutes again. This taste better (depending on what flavor YOU add), and more importantly, has wayyyyy better texture than any plant-based protein I've had before. SO good!!

  3. You are a sorceress. I ordered the bones you mentioned and made this recipe tonight. Air fried two at a time. Un-fricking-believable. So good. It might as well be chicken. Going to show to some non vegans this week.

  4. No. Jutesticks can be eaten up stuffed with beet, red leaves (like veggie herbs) & biscuit crumbs . For meat? Say chicken? More cauliflower, moderate minced jackfruit & soya chunks mixed & dipped in egg yolk along with bread crumbs , & flour , then fry & keep aside. Prepare the spicy gravy then dip these bad boys in just before serving. Yeah !!! I just thought of just tonight. And I reached that shot I guess. Me too wise 😉

  5. Hi, Candice. Do you think these would crisp up nicely in the air fryer, if I were to add about a half top of each baking powder and baking soda? (I was able to accomplish this with actual chicken, and would love if the same could be done with the tofu skin. Your thoughts?

  6. I like how u use the counter to hold u up. Its like you’re hungover and really dont feel like doing this video, but since u promised, u will do your best lol. Can u make another video with you laying on the floor with a pillow and talking us through the recipe?

  7. Can I prepare these up until the bone-wrapping stage and then refrigerate until ready to bake? I'll be baking instead of deepfrying. Possible to prep and pause? Or will midway refrigeration deteriorate the skin texture?
