  1. Your deli slices might say vegetarian and not vegan because of the red wine ingredient. Some wines use animal gelatin as a filtering agent. I don't know if someone said this already as I did not read all the comments

  2. I know this is an older video and you probably won't see this but the off-brand Selection's semi-sweet chocolate chips only "may contain milk" but it isn't actually listed! I get mine at Food Basics, they're a lot cheaper than the ones that are marketed as vegan

  3. Hey Candice! Just started watching your videos! Amazing! Love Soy Curls – Did a Korean Bulgogi dish! Was amazing! Planning a trip down to Buffalo for a vegan haul. You'd think Toronto would have a lot more items that don't cost an arm and leg! Did you have any trouble at customs when coming back?

  4. Great to see the range of stuff you guys have in the states and Canada. We live in Wales, UK and the choice is limited to say the least! We are finally able to get some Follow Your Heart products and some Tofurky. I REALLY wish Field Roast and Beyond Meat could make it to our little country. Great video as always. Thank you! Or, Diolch! As we say in Wales!

  5. Shout out to any vegans who are allergic to soy and gluten! I'm wondering if it is even possible to be a preservative-free whole foods vegan on a budget, with limited cooking time (because you work literally 80 hours a week not including taking care of your family and household), and having severe allergies to soy and gluten?

I am an omnivore but limit my animal products to when I feel I need them. I'm also so sensitive to too many carbs and any processed foods. I limit myself to under 150 because it just doesn't matter if I eat veggies, or legumes. Too many carbs cause my IBS to act up. I eat an adventurous diet that makes me feel best consisting of veggies, unprocessed protein sources in their pure unadulterated forms which is the only things that I can eat without my gut hating me which includes–fish, beef, chicken, whey, eggs–in limited amounts I can consume plant based proteins like nuts…too many wreck my digestion :'( and I'm so physically active I need a ton of protein to function without losing mass and cramping up. And on the plus side I only shop local so transportation costs to the environment are minimal and I can support local family owned farms.

That rant aside I have been trying for environmental sustainability reasons to limit my animal protein but it seems every alternative bothers my stomach. Everything Candice showed would literally have in bed just in pain unable to go to work. I have shitty healthcare too so I'm really not down with spending 1000's of dollars I don't have to see if I can't 'fix' my IBS and allergies. I just want to continue to eat unadulterated preservative free healthy foods but more plant based and feel great like I do when I just stay away from stuff that bothers me. Any suggestions? I envy all of you who can eat whatever you want and have oodles of time to cook. I have 2 hours a week so I just cook a huge batch of something to take to work with me so I have at least one well prepared meal a day.

  6. I bought a cheese called Go Veggie cheese without looking at the ingredients, assuming that cheese with veggie in the title made it vegan cheese. I made a grilled cheese, but into it and nearly vomited because I could immediately tell it was dairy cheese (ya know how dairy cheese leaves that gross snot taste in your mouth) It was so gross. But yea, I am with you on wrongly assuming that veggie means VEGGIE

  7. So Candice, after watching this video I went out and bought a package of the Field Roast burgers and… WOW!!! Hands down the best veggie burgers we've ever had!!! Thanks for the review, now we're hooked!!! 😉 <3

  8. My husband is a meat eater but loves vegan mayo. I made a stir fry the other day and he ate some. I was like you like the tofu babe? He says tofu? I thought it was some kinda weird chicken. Lmbo!
