  1. Thanks just did it to my new cast-iron. I seasoned it that what you said in the oven and it came out nice and shiny. I didn’t use it for steak and then what I did was clean what you said to do and then after that, I seasoned it when it was hot to put it awayand shiny thanks a lot❤😊

  2. I have my mom's cast iron that has very heavy crud on it. Brillo doesn't cut it. My friend had her's sandblasted clean, but there are no sandblasters in my area. Was wondering about Muriatic acid? Anyone have experience with that.

  3. My husband is a custom welder and had a Great grandson come in with a cast iron pan with a broken off handle. It belonged to his Great Grandpa.we put in in his oven at 900 degrees and welded the handle back on. It looks very old and Rusty so I followed your directions to restore it and now it's seasoned, clean and looks new. I looked up the pan and it dated back to the 1800s. He's going to be so impressed and able to pass it on to his own family.

  4. Help, please. I fried chicken breast tenderloins seasoned with/lemon pepper in canola in cast iron skillet. A thick residue i could not remove formed on skillet. I added dawn & water & heated it on my stove & scraped with metal spatula. There’s some black powder residue left & rust. How do i prevent that hard residue from forming? & what do i do now? TYIA

  5. just got a smaller skillet (6 1/2") that I hope to use camping, it was pretty cheap but has a good heaft to it, only downside is that there is some evidence of pitting on the inside of the pan, should I take a sander to it to get it flat again or just season over the slightly uneven surface?

  6. My pan has the grill type pattern inside and while using name brand papertowels to wipe out, little ity bits of papertowel are left behind.. I keep wiping trying to remove them. Ah well… Thanks for the vid!

  7. Question: I have a couple rusty skillets and while scrubbing at the rust it seems I rubbed off all of the seasoning in some spots while it’s a little thicker in the spots that didn’t have rust. Now do I need to scrub the whole pan until everything is even? Or will it even out with seasoning? Did I ruin my pans by scrubbing them down to the metal in some spots 🫣🫣🫣

  8. I don't have any special tools but I scrubbed my mother's iron skillet after she died and I've used it daily ever since. There's this build up on the bottom, though it isn't rusty. Is that okay?

  9. The crime here is the complete and utter perversion of the Second Amendment, history, and common sense on full display by this right wing gun nut. Judging by the comments in this thread most of you are completely brainwashed too. A 50 year plus campaign by lobbyists and gun radicals has managed to change America’s perception of gun ownership. The long game to elect radical politicians, and appoint sympathetic judges has lead to laws, and court decisions allowing gun ownership to surge unchecked. Despite the majority of Americans demanding much stricter federal laws we now live in a country terrorized by the minority. A minority that’s watched one too many Rambo films growing up. Listen to this guy, he’s scared of everything, probably his own shadow, whining on that he needs a gun for self defense when in fact he’s just allowing fear to live rent free in his head.

  10. Some brands of cast iron may require multiple layers of seasoning to restore the lost patina. Rinse, heat, and repeat until you get a uniform satiny-looking surface.
